This program began with a simple question: how can we give back to the small businesses that are the lifeblood of OUR business? 2020 and 2021 have proven to be difficult for so many, and small family restaurants were hit harder than most. We help provide poultry to these businesses, and they provide so much back to us. They are the source of our success. So, we decided to do something to give back.
In December of 2020, Riverdale Providers voted for their favourite local/non-chain restaurants. Our owners travelled 1,000 KMs to personally deliver support to the top 10 restaurants across southwestern Ontario.
In December of 2020, Riverdale was proud to live our Purpose of “Feeding the Country” by supporting Nonnina’s Table in Toronto, an organization dedicated to providing meals to community members. Riverdale donated 352 turkeys and 7 of our Providers spent the day handing out turkeys and helping to pack meal bags for community members in need.
With Riverdale donating the turkeys this year, Nonnina’s Table was able to allocate more funding to help feed more community members. It was an incredible experience, and we are so proud to have had the opportunity to be involved.
Riverdale is proud to contribute to the Ronald McDonald House. RMHC’s 33 programs across Canada provide families with a home to stay together, close to their sick child in hospital, where they can sleep, enjoy home cooked meals, do laundry, be supported by other families, and receive the care that can help make their journey a little easier.
Riverdale is proud to contribute to the Maple Leaf Centre for Action on Food Security. The Centre supports programs that advance the capacity of people and communities to achieve sustainable food security and have the potential to be replicated or scaled to increase their impact.
Riverdale is proud to contribute to the Sofina Foundation. With a focus on supporting causes related to children’s issues, the Foundation proudly partners with various charities across Canada with an aim to positively impact communities.
